About the Role:

To assist the embroidery department by having working knowledge of multiple job functions within the department. Responsible for performing many different tasks during a given day.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Function

Quality In

  • Unpack and count garments
  • Inspect garment for flaws or defects
  • Apply garment and product labels as necessary
  • Gather garments into runs for embroidery operations

Hooper

  • Work within a team of four to embroider garments
  • Read and follow specific embroidery instructions
  • Ensure logo is in proper location
  • Ensure logo is properly sized
  • Notify Manager of any errors or discrepancies
  • Determine hoop size based on logo
  • Assist Embroidery Operator in obtaining proper thread color, also returning thread after use
  • Assist with sweeping and general clean up at end of day
  • Set up area for the next day's work

Embroidery Operator - Set-up and program.

  • Read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts.
  • Ensure all garment labels match and sizing is correct
  • Adjust production equipment/machinery setup.

Embroidery Operator - Load and unload machine.

  • Place spools of thread, cord, or other materials on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components.
  • Position material or articles in clamps, templates, or hoop frames prior to automatic operation of machines.
  • Remove holding devices and finished items from machines.

Embroidery Operator - Machine cycle of embroidery on the item.

  • Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.
  • Maintain consistent production quality.
  • Record quantities of materials processed.
  • Remove holding devices and finished items from machines.

Press

  • Inspect garment to ensure proper heat level is used when pressing
  • Apply secondary product as needed to assist with pressing

Fold

  • Fold garment to ensure logo is properly shown
  • Ensure garments is folded to proper specifications

Bag

  • Pack garment to ensure logo is properly shown
  • Inspect garment and product labels for defects or errors
