Your Opportunity at SECURE

As Facility Operator you are responsible for for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of waste treatment, oil treatment and water injection. Operators actively assist with standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, safety programs and environment protection, while keeping in constant contact with customers and demonstrating excellent communications skills and a high level of customer service.

This position is located in Redwater, AB.

The Team

The team at the Redwater facility takes pride in operating safely and delivering operational excellence. Team members work together in a fast-paced environment, support one another, and are committed to providing reliable service to customers while living SECURE's values every day.

Work Environment

This position follows a 12-hour shift schedule on a 7-on / 7-off rotation, working day and night shifts.

A Day in The Life
  • Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operation of the facility
  • Responsible for oilfield and industrial truck loading, unloading, oil emulsion and water, tank trucks, vac trucks & hydrovacs.
  • Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & centrifuge operations and solids treating
  • Managing ongoing water injection, filter changing and pump maintenance
  • Conducting treatment of material on the waste pad
  • Conducting boiler operations, testing and glycol system operations
  • Ensuring that all corporate compliance programs are adhered to
  • Participates in the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
  • Waste plant operation (ensuring solids processing is meeting or exceeding landfill criteria and solids testing)
  • Following water injection SOP's and best practices to protect the disposal well integrity
  • General maintenance, ensure that the plant is kept clean and safe
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in waste processing and oil treating or water injection an asset
  • Training in boilers, pumps (all), repairs, shaker/centrifuge and loader is considered an asset
  • Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS and TDG
  • A strong attention to detail, communication skills with the ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
  • Must be able to document their work, perform and manage cross shift communication and ensure clear communication with the rest of the team
  • Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate excellent decision-making skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and safe work practices
  • A valid and acceptable Driver's license and successful completion of Pre-employment testing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be able to manage multiple priorities and have good time management skills
