JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Aircraft Mechanic will maintain, repair and inspect aircraft to ensure safe operations within guidelines set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to submit to pre-employment and periodic DOT regulations for drug and alcohol testing. 
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft airframe, powerplant and various aircraft systems. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Perform functional checks and operational tests. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical data, and work instructions. Document all work performed accurately and in compliance with FAA standards. Ensure aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards. Follow company safety and procedures. 
A successful candidate holds an FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certificate and will have the ability to work unsupervised.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, inspection
  • Perform and support scheduled and unscheduled line maintenance as required
  • Work in a team of mechanics and technicians
  • Consult maintenance manuals and specifications to identify correct operations and specifications for replacements or repairs
  • Identify the pilot or crew
  • Troubleshoot and rectify airframe, powerplant, and aircraft system discrepancies
  • Ensure all work and documentation comply with FAA regulations and company procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FAA A&P Mechanic Certificate required, IA a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to work full-time
  • Aircraft maintenance 2+ years of experience preferred
  • Experience and initial training for Global Express, XRS is a must
  • Preferable experience and initial training for Hawker 750/800XP/850XP, Embraer ERJ 135/145, Legacy 600/650, Bombardier Challenger 600/850, CRJ 100/200
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting and repair methods
  • Thorough understanding of aircraft parts, systems, and mechanics
  • Thorough understanding of tools and testing methods used to ensure the proper functioning of an aircraft and its parts, systems, and mechanics
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to manual instructions to resolve complex mechanical issue. 
  • Ability to access web-based online and electronic maintenance manuals
  • Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude. 
  • Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engine run and Taxi experience
  • Avionics knowledge and experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience performing inspections, repairs and maintenance 
  • Aviation maintenance or MRO experience 
  • FAA Part 135 or Part 145 background
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulation and company GOM, GMM, RSM
  • Software CAMP, VERYON, TRAX, Smart 145, AvPro or equivalents
  • Willing to travel within Florida, national + international travel occasionally
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand, lie and kneel in awkward positions and spaces
  • Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds at a time 
  • Manual dexterity and physical strength are necessary to operate tools or make an adjustments and repairs
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects
  • Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify the functioning level of aircraft
  • Normal or corrected vision is required
