Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions business area is seeking a Senior Geomatics Engineer to Algorithms (ALGO) group in developing market-leading GNSS solutions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with engineers across the broader NovAtel organization as well as with customers to implement stateoftheart positioning algorithms, perform detailed data analysis, and explore AI-driven methods to improve algorithm development and performance analysis. Leveraging your experience in GNSS RTK/PPP, along with strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical problemsolving approach, you will play a key role in supporting ongoing business initiatives within a dynamic hightech environment. In this role, you will support some of the industry's leading companies by coordinating and demonstrating Hexagon Autonomous Solutions’ innovative products and assisting new customers in integration with their systems.

As a Senior Geomatics Engineer you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Work individually and in small teams to research, develop, and enhance NovAtel’s industry-leading positioning algorithms
  • Develop AI/ML solutions for GNSS high-precision positioning, including measurement quality scoring, adaptive weighting, ambiguity confidence, and anomaly detection.
  • Drive the design, implementation and verification of features throughout the product lifecycle
  • Build tools that analyze regression results, identify what changed, link performance shifts to parameter updates, and recommend next tuning actions.
  • Collaborate with verification designers to plan, execute tests, and develop automated test suites 

Must-Have:

  • B.Sc. in Geomatics/Electrical/Software Engineering with 8+ years of industrial experience or M.Sc. in Geomatics/Electrical/Software Engineering with 5+ years of industrial experience or Ph.D. in Geomatics/Electrical/Software Engineering with 3+ years of industrial experience
  • Proven industrial experience on GNSS high-precision positioning engine
  • Deep understanding of linear and non-linear optimization, advanced parameter estimation, and computational numerical methods.
  • Strong embedded C/C++ programming skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
