Internship Term:
Winter - Spring 2026 (January - June)

Commitment: Full Time, 8 AM to 5 PM

Location: On site in Woburn, MA

Engineering co-ops at SmartFlower get broad exposure to product design, manufacturing and field service, owning projects from start to finish in a global, fast-paced and hands-on environment. We are looking for someone pursuing an electrical, software or related engineering field who wants to work at the intersection of electro-mechanical and IoT connected systems. What you will do:

  • Assist with engineering and service of Smartflower Solar systems
  • Develop, test and deploy new firmware solutions to boost ease of use, product reliability, serviceability or performance.
  • Partner with SmartFlower technical team members and external engineering contractors to develop, validate and release software or firmware solutions
  • Validate new features prior to release. Monitor fleet performance to identify field issues early and own their containment and resolution
  • Support continuous improvement efforts around the firmware release process including enhanced documentation, version control, release package build and OTA update management

  • Are working towards a computer, electrical, robotics or equivalent engineering degree
  • Are proficient programming in modern languages such as C / C++ and Python
  • Can share a portfolio of previous work demonstrating experience with embedded systems
  • Operate with a hands-on approach, are self-motivated, and love to work on hardware products
  • Are able to work independently, manage time and prioritize your work
  • Demonstrate independence, a self-starter attitude with strong communication skills
