You will manage a team of talented embedded software engineers, oversee multiple client projects simultaneously, and serve as a key technical point of contact for our clients.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in embedded systems, medical device development, and cybersecurity.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in our software development processes and toolchains.
• Project and Client Management
• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle for multiple projects, from requirements definition through verification and validation.
• Collaborate with Technical Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Ensure all embedded software development activities comply with medical device regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485), including software requirements specifications, software architecture and design documents, and risk management and cybersecurity plans and assessments (including FMEAs).
• Collaborate with Business Development staff to introduce prospective customers to the company's capabilities and expertise and to develop technical proposals for new client work.
• Team and People Management:
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of embedded software engineers.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide career development opportunities, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
• Recruit top talent and build a robust team to meet the demands of our growing business.
KEY SKILLS:
• 10+ years recent experience with modern embedded C++
• Experience developing medical devices or other safety critical systems
• Strong hands-on experience with embedded development on Linux, Windows, an RTOS, or bare metal
• Strong experience with modern SDLC processes (unit testing, static analysis, CI/CD)
• Strong familiarity with modern software development tools (Git, SVN, or other industry-standard source control) and SDLC processes
• Experience using Agile techniques, including task / issue management
• Demonstrated commitment to high quality
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results oriented
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Extensive experience with full product development lifecycle for medical devices, from concept to commercialization
• Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded systems
• Deep understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux
• Demonstrated experience with hardware-software integration, including low-level driver development and debugging
• In-depth knowledge of medical device regulations and standards, especially IEC 62304
• Experience with cybersecurity for embedded systems
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client-facing skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, services-based environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
