Software Engineer Responsibilities Support the development of Strategic Operating Units, executing both sustainment and modernization programs. Contribute to software engineering initiatives for multiple programs, including software design, development, testing, integration, and DevOps expertise. Use a variety of software languages, technologies, and industry best practices. Support all phases of the development life cycle for flight, mission, lab, and tools software. Software Engineer Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience in software engineering. Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and no prior software engineering experience. PhD degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and no prior software engineering experience. Familiar with Safety‐Critical Embedded Real‐Time Software. Familiar with all phases of the software development life cycle and Agile framework as a Product Owner, SCRUM Master, or team member. Experience developing software and scripts in multiple programming languages (C, C++, Python, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, KornShell) for Safety‐Critical applications. Familiar with architecting, designing, implementing, integrating, verifying and qualifying Safety‐Critical Embedded Real‐Time Software on various RTOS (VxWorks, Integrity, Real‐Time Embedded Linux). Familiar with Static and Dynamic Code Analysis Tools and Fuzzing Tools such as Coverity, Fortify, SonarQube. Familiar with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools. Active U.S. government Secret level or higher clearance (in‐scope) with ability to obtain special program access (PAR). Experience architecting, designing, modeling (Rhapsody or Cameo), implementing, maintaining, integrating, and debugging OO C++ software running on real‐time operating systems such as VxWorks, Integrity, and/or Real‐Time Embedded Linux. Experience with DOORS and Software Requirements Specification testing using simulators and automated scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, Bash. Experience with software network interfaces and troubleshooting networks (TCP/UDP, LAN, VLAN, SNMP, etc.). SkillBridge Program Responsibilities & Eligibility On‐site job training supporting a 40‐hour per week schedule. Work experience in entry to mid‐level career paths with host company. Participate in professional development, networking, and training focused on leadership, company history, and core job responsibilities. Eligibility: at least 180 days of active duty; within 12 months of separation or retirement; honorable discharge; participation in TAPS/TGPS; recent ethics brief; written authorization from unit commander. Salary & Benefits Primary level salary range: $75,100 – $112,700. Secondary level salary range: $93,300 – $139,900. Salary is based on scope and responsibilities, candidate's experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and for senior positions, long‐term incentives.
