What You'll Do

As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will drive the development and evolution of our UEFI/BIOS ecosystem and influence future server architecture decisions. Leveraging deep expertise in x86 and ARM64 architectures, you will architect secure, scalable firmware solutions tailored for CoreWeave's high-performance AI infrastructure. You will own complex technical challenges, lead cross-functional initiatives with hardware and security teams, and partner with key silicon vendors to optimize our custom server stack for next-generation compute capabilities. You will architect and refine mission-critical systems on state-of-the-art server platforms and next-generation silicon, exercising end-to-end ownership of core firmware components from conceptual design through global deployment, while collaborating with industry-leading innovators to define the future of high-performance cloud computing.

Some of what you'll work on:

  • Architect and implement advanced UEFI/BIOS features optimized for large-scale server deployments.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate firmware vulnerabilities and bugs using ITP, JTAG, and hardware debuggers.
  • Streamline platform initialization and boot sequences to enhance system responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Integrate robust secure boot protocols and hardware-root-of-trust mechanisms to safeguard firmware integrity.
  • Engineer and maintain critical Power-On Self Test (POST) logic for diverse hardware configurations.
  • Design seamless remote firmware update and recovery pipelines for fleet-wide reliability.
  • Lead technical collaboration on board bring-up, hardware validation, and platform stabilization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-performance UEFI/BIOS codebases for server ecosystems.
  • Implement ACPI tables and power management logic to optimize system efficiency.
  • Debug critical bottlenecks using ITP and JTAG methodologies.
  • Manage ODM partnerships and BIOS development lifecycles, ensuring alignment on firmware specifications, quality, and delivery milestones
  • Collaborate with silicon vendors (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) to orchestrate the integration and rebasing of Reference Code packages
  • Align firmware capabilities with product management objectives and market needs
  • Provide technical leadership for firmware features and mentor junior talent to foster a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Lead strategic technical planning for roadmaps while reviewing architectural specs and enforcing rigorous coding standards.
Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience in server development and bring up.
