Utility Distribution Project Manager (Remote)

About the Role:
Become a vital part of ExecuPOWER's growing Project Management Office (PMO) as a Utility Distribution Project Manager. This direct hire opportunity offers remote work in Ohio (OH), Pennsylvania (PA), New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), Delaware (DE), West Virginia (WV), and Virginia (VA). You'll oversee utility distribution projects from initiation to close-out, ensuring excellence across all stages: engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and completion.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
  • Lead utility distribution projects
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, requisitions, Bills of Material, Task Authorizations, and Engineering Work Requests.
  • Provide status updates to the Management Sponsor regarding project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Proactively identify and address issues requiring management involvement.
Budget Oversight:
  • Monitor project budgets for accuracy, adequacy, and compliance.
  • Prepare capital expenditure authorizations and initiate budget revisions when needed.
  • Track contractor resource levels and report findings.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio and Work Management teams to develop and maintain project schedules.
Strategic Planning:
  • Review and approve comprehensive project plans.
  • Communicate project objectives and priorities to the Client's Leadership Team.
  • Ensure project alignment with tactical and strategic goals.
  • Validate estimates and ensure contingency applications are correctly managed.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure planned tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Ensure proper team participation and notify of additional resource needs when required.
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and oversee quality control programs, ensuring adherence to requirements.
  • Review and approve contractor-provided procedures as necessary.
Project Completion:
  • Coordinate close-out documentation for project completion.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate success and establish benefit realization timelines.

Qualifications:
Must-Have:
  • Ability to travel to client locations in OH, PA, NY, NJ, DE, WV, and VA.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in utility distribution projects.
  • Experience in project organization, engineering, finance, construction, project management, planning, or project controls.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate.
Preferred:
  • PMP Certification (completed or in process).
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera, MS Project scheduling/resource planning software.
  • Experience in detailed project controls.
