Description:

Responsible for embedded software engineering on Innovative Solutions & Support (IS&S) product platforms. Candidate needs to be able to work in a team environment with other engineers and disciplines to develop and integrate software/hardware into complex avionics equipment. The candidate will be writing code in C with some assembly code for lower level or performance critical functions. The candidate can make assessments on reusability, maintainability, and efficiency on software across product lines. The candidate will be responsible for the development of low-level software requirements and design documentation in accordance with RTCA DO-178B/C guidelines. The candidate should utilize their own expertise within a team environment to add input on technical approaches for software/product design in compliance with FAA guidelines and or established processes at IS&S.

Requirements:

DESIRED CANDIDATES:

  • Required degree.
    • Bachelor of Computer Science (with C).
    • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (with C exposure).
    • Bachelor of Computer Engineering (with C exposure).
  • Required Knowledge
    • Embedded systems knowledge
    • ARM processor-based development
    • Read and Write C source code
    • Read Assembly language
  • Desired skills
    • Real Time Operating System (i.e. VxWorks) knowledge is desired
    • Linux experience (i.e. Yoctu) is desired
    • Board Level programming knowledge (i.e. u-boot) is desired
    • Interface knowledge: SPI, 422, 485, i2C, USB, ethernet, RGB, LVDS, MIPI
    • Experience with Open GL graphics desired
    • Ability to use Debugger and low-level troubleshooting skills is desired
    • Familiarity with Eclipse or other IDEs is a plus
    • Multi core processor knowledge is desired
    • Ability to read and understand electronic component datasheets
