GENERAL MANAGER - ELLIS ISLAND CASINO Job Description Category: Casino Status: Exempt Job Description The General Manager at Ellis Island Casino is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of all hotel and casino operations, including gaming, food and beverage, security, and guest services. The General Manager will ensure the seamless coordination of departments to deliver an exceptional guest experience, drive revenue growth, and maintain regulatory compliance. With a focus on operational efficiency, team development, and brand integrity, the General Manager will play a critical role in preserving the culture and reputation of Ellis Island while positioning the property for continued success.

Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Operations Provide clear direction and strategic leadership across all departments to ensure alignment with the casino's operational goals and brand standards. Oversee day-to-day operations of the hotel and casino including gaming, food and beverage outlets, guest services, and security.

Collaborate with department leaders to set and achieve performance benchmarks, revenue targets, and guest service standards. Continuously monitor operations, analyze KPIs, and implement improvements to drive efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction. Financial Oversight Develop and manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings.

Review financial reports, analyze trends, and provide accurate forecasting and reporting to executive leadership. Negotiate vendor contracts and control purchasing to ensure value and cost efficiency. Team Leadership & Culture Lead, coach, and support a high-performing team of department heads and team members across all operational areas.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven workplace culture. Ensure effective communication, training, and performance management practices are in place to support employee growth and retention. Guest Experience Lead a guest-first culture across all departments, ensuring consistent, high-quality service at every touchpoint.

Monitor guest feedback and reviews, resolving escalated issues and implementing improvements to enhance satisfaction and loyalty. Ensure that the Ellis Island Casino brand and values are reflected in every guest interaction. Gaming Operations Ensure full compliance with Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations and internal controls.

Work closely with gaming leadership to enhance the gaming experience, increase revenue, and ensure optimal staffing and service levels on the casino floor. Support the development and execution of gaming promotions, events, and player development initiatives. Food & Beverage Operations Oversee the performance of all food and beverage operations, ensuring quality, service, and profitability across all outlets.

Partner with F&B leadership to develop menus, streamline operations, control costs, and enhance guest satisfaction. Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards across all outlets. Hotel Operations Establishing strategic direction, financial objectives, and performance standards for hotel operations.

Reviewing key operating metrics, guest feedback, and financial results to ensure goals are met. Ensuring integration of hotel operations with casino, food and beverage, and marketing initiatives. Security Operations Partner with Security leadership to oversee security and surveillance operations to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Skills / Experience Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, and/or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

At least 10 years of experience in casino or hospitality operations, with at least 5 years of recent experience in a senior leadership or General Manager role overseeing multiple departments. In-depth knowledge of casino operations, including slot and table game management, promotions, player development, and regulatory compliance specific to Nevada. Proven experience managing successful high-volume F&B operations, with a focus on quality, cost control, and guest satisfaction.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze financial statements, drive profitability, and implement cost-control strategies. A hands-on, collaborative leadership style with a track record of building, motivating, and retaining high-performing teams. Deep understanding of customer service best practices and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.

Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs dictate. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Registration Card.

Must be able to submit to and pass a background check and drug test. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the casino and property. Must be able to move throughout all areas of the property, including back-of-house and public areas.

Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and radios as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and varying temperature conditions.
