Job description

The Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking to hire a Diesel/Hydraulic Mechanic in the Nashville, TN area
For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot).
Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.
Job Description
We are seeking a mechanic to perform the following:
  • Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles including tires and tracks
  • Meet with crew members and leads to better understand their concerns and identify issues.
  • Assemble mechanical components according to specs
  • Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems
  • Design a plan of action for all maintenance equipment tasks and upgrades.
  • Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records
  • Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary
  • Perform vehicle/equipment assessments and alert appropriate parties on issues that will prohibit their vehicle/equipment from operating correctly or passing an inspections
  • Perform DOT inspections

Qualifications
  • Must provide own tools
  • Experience in electrical, hydraulics, and diesel preferred
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Class A CDL
  • Must be willing to travel
  • 40+ hrs a week expected
