Job description


Elite Technical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our client''s growing composites design and manufacturing team. This role will support the design, development, and improvement of high-performance components and systems used in maritime defense applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design, a passion for engineering innovation, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software
- Design components and assemblies in accordance with project requirements and industry standards
- Develop BOM-s and specify material requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and project management
- Support prototype development, testing, and procedure development
- Maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, revisions, and technical reports
- Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost efficiencies

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of CAD design experience
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software
- Experience with additional CAD software (e.g., NX, AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor) is a plus
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or manufacturing industries
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., ASME, ISO)
- Experience working with product data management software such as SolidWorks PDM
