Elite Truck Driver / Traveling Driver - Class A - Penske Logistics

This isn't a typical CDLA role. It's designed for experienced, reliable drivers who want variety, flexibility, and the chance to make an impact. As part of Penske's Elite Driver team, you'll travel to support critical operations, help launch new business, and step in where strong drivers are needed most. 

If you're adaptable, dependable, and take pride in getting the job done right, this is a unique opportunity to stand out. 

Qualified candidates will hold a current CDL-A, have at least 2 years of documented tractor trailer experience in the last 5 years, and no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years This role offers true flexibility-assignments are at least three weeks, with the option to extend and continue traveling as long as it works for you. Preferred candidates will have hazmat and doubles endorsements.

What You'll Do 

  • Travel regionally and nationally to support Penske operations  
  • Represent Penske as a trusted, elite professional driver 
  • Help launch new business and support key strategic customers  
  • Perform multi-stop deliveries in a variety of environments  
  • Job assignments can range from high touch to no touch. Training is provided for specialized equipment.  
  • Use scanners and onboard technology to ensure accurate deliveries  
  • Drive safe, in well maintained vehicles s with best-in-class specs for comfort and safety - including inward and outward facing in-cab cameras for safety and protection

Qualifications:
Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.
Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
