Electrical Estimator – Austin, TX

Elite Executive Solutions is partnering with a highly respected electrical contractor in the Austin market to identify an experienced Electrical Estimator. This opportunity is ideal for an estimator seeking a stable, growth-oriented environment where preconstruction plays a strategic role in project execution and business development.

Position Overview

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial electrical construction projects, including ground-up, tenant improvement, healthcare, mission-critical, and data center work. This position works closely with preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership to support project pursuit strategies and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates from conceptual budgeting through GMP and final pricing.
  • Perform complete quantity takeoffs for power, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and related electrical systems.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure scope accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop labor, material, and equipment pricing utilizing historical data and current market conditions.
  • Participate in design-build, negotiated, and competitive bid opportunities.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor proposals.
  • Identify scope gaps, risk factors, and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Support bid strategy development, project phasing, and risk assessment efforts.
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams during project handoff.
  • Maintain estimating databases, assemblies, and historical cost benchmarks.

  • Ability to interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple estimates while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
