This dual-role position requires an elite mechanical skillset combined with excellent customer-facing and administrative abilities. You will lead precision chassis setups, fabrication, custom wiring, and high-performance powertrain builds while serving as the primary technical point of contact for our track and race clients—managing relationships, writing accurate project estimates, and overseeing the shop floor.

* Hours: 40 hours per week, with frequent premium overtime opportunities during busy track/race seasons.

Key Responsibilities

* Fabrication & Welding: Design, modify, and weld custom components, brackets, and roll cages (MIG/TIG experience highly preferred).

* Advanced Diagnostics & Tuning: Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and analyze vehicle data.

* Custom Wiring & Electronics: Build or modify standalone engine management wiring harnesses, sensor installations, and data logging systems.

* Powertrain Development: Execute high-performance engine and transmission builds, upgrades, and track-prep overhauls.

* Customer Service & Advising: Consult with high-end track clients to understand their performance goals, provide technical advice, and deliver exceptional service.

* Estimating & Service Writing: Build detailed, accurate labor and parts estimates for complex, custom builds and routine track prep using shop management software.

Qualifications

* Proven experience in a high-performance shop, race team, or trackside support environment working on Porsche, BMW, and/or modern sports cars.

* Prior experience writing estimates, consulting clients, or managing shop operations.

* Master-level understanding of suspension geometry, vehicle dynamics, and aftermarket electronics/ECUs.

* Ability to work with tight tolerances and deliver flawless reliability under grueling track conditions.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Own a comprehensive set of professional-grade tools.

Position 2: Automotive Service Technician (General Repair)

Job Brief

We are looking for a reliable, efficient Automotive Service Technician to handle our core general repair and maintenance operations at our Burlingame, CA facility. While our shop specializes in high-performance platforms like Porsche, BMW, and Chevrolet, this role focuses on keeping our daily shop operations running smoothly by diagnosing, servicing, and repairing standard passenger and sports vehicles with precision.

Compensation & Schedule

* Type: Full-Time, Hourly

* Rate: Hourly base rate + Overtime pay (commensurate with experience).

* Hours: 40 hours per week with overtime pay structured for any hours worked past 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities

* Routine Maintenance: Perform fluid flushes, oil changes, tire balances, rotations, and comprehensive multi-point safety inspections.

* General Repairs: Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering and suspension components, climate control (A/C), and cooling systems.

* Engine & Drivetrain Service: Handle standard timing belts, water pumps, seals, and bolt-on mechanical components.

* Diagnostics: Use modern scan tools to accurately diagnose Check Engine lights, electrical glitches, and drivability issues on a variety of popular passenger vehicles.

Qualifications

* Strong familiarity with European (BMW/Porsche) or domestic performance (GM) platforms is a major plus but not strictly required.

* ASE Certifications are a strong plus but not required if backed by experience.

* Strong time management skills and a high standard for quality and safety.

* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

* Own standard hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
