Job description

Job Description: Elevator Mechanic Helper

We are currently seeking elevator mechanic helpers to join our team in New York City, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting elevator mechanics with various tasks as needed. Experience is not required, but preferred as we are willing to train the right candidate. We are hiring in all departments including modernization, new construction, inspections, and repair/service.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist elevator mechanics with various tasks as needed
  • Listen to and follow instructions given by the mechanic
  • Use hand and power tools and work with heights
  • Abide by OSHA, NYCDOB, company, and industry safety standards
  • Regularly lift and carry over 20lbs and potentially heavier loads (assistance and tools provided when needed)
  • Walk up and down stairs and stand for long periods
Requirements:
  • Team-oriented and willing to work closely with company owners, supervisors, and mechanics
  • Self-motivated to continually educate oneself to grow professionally within the elevator industry and company
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends is a plus
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools and working with heights
  • OSHA 30 Certification amp; 40 Hour SST is a must - we will pay for the class!
  • NYCDOB Elevator Helper Card or qualify to obtain one - we will help apply for the card
  • Authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
Location:

Job responsibilities and work locations will vary, but all work is done within the five boroughs of NYC, Western Long Island, Westchester County, and some work in Eastern NJ.
