Job description

Responsibilities/Functions

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders related to elevator door assemblies.
  • Measure, grind and drill tap sheet metal fabricate elevator doors, frames and cabshells.
  • Operate machines such as press brakes, shears, CNC punches, and welding equipment as needed.
  • Assemble cab components including panels.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure finished products meet specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and design teams to resolve fabrication challenges.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Track production and report any discrepancies or equipment issues to the supervisor.

Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related field.
  • Familiarity with tape measurer, tools and machinery used in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and safety practices.
  • Experience specifically in elevator component manufacturing.

Additional Information

· 7am – 5:30pm, Mon – Thu (excluding federal holidays)

  • Manufacturing floor setting, exposure to machinery noise and metalworking processes.
  • Regular lifting of materials up to 80 lbs. using proper lifting techniques including (2) person lifting.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Compensation & Benefits:

· $20 - $27 per hour commensurate with experience & education

· Medical benefits available after 60 days

· 3 weeks paid PTO per year, accrued bi-weekly

· 5 paid holidays per year
