Essential duties:

  • Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings including symbols, welding symbols, material type and material shape.
  • Machinists are required to use milling machines, grinders, lathes and other machine tools
  • Plan machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints, drawings, specifications, materials, machining parameters, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Properly set up and operate Manual Mill and machine parts/components to the required specifications.
  • Properly utilize machining tools.
  • Plan and perform milling operations.
  • Select appropriate speeds, feeds and tooling for operations.
  • Properly lift and position workpiece on machine table and secure it.
  • Verify alignment and conformance of machined workpiece to specifications using measuring devices.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to company safety procedures and policies.
