Alma del Mar is a K-8 charter school whose mission is to put every one of our scholars on the path to college and to challenge them to be service-minded leaders. We do this by immersing our scholars in a highly demanding, highly supportive environment where they receive a contentrich education. This position is intended to start in August 2026 and is budgeted for just the 2026-2027 school year. Successful teaching assistants will be considered for other roles for which they are qualified.

The Teaching Assistant - Temporary Role

Our Teaching Assistant role is a perfect opportunity to give talented individuals practice and experience teaching and working with kids.

  • They will support with schoolwide systems and routines like arrival, meal times, recess, and dismissal.
  • They will work in collaboration with and under the guidance of experienced Lead Teachers.
  • Teaching Assistants may also act as substitutes throughout the building as needed.
  • The content and age range of students they work with will depend on the needs of the school.

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Prior experience working with children in a professional capacity, or as a regular volunteer is required
