About Camden Rockport Elementary School
Camden Rockport Elementary School, nestled in a spacious setting with woods and fields adjacent to the high school, serves approximately 320 students in grades PreK-4 from the towns of Camden and Rockport. CRES is guided by the Responsive Classroom Model, believes in outdoor education and implements the EL Education and Bridges Mathematics Curriculum. CRES has a robust system of supports for students, and features the first nature-based public PreK in the state of Maine.
Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional who loves working with elementary school students and working collaboratively with other professionals to support student learning through academic interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience in literacy and math instruction through tutoring or teaching experience, and find joy in working with young learners. This position works 7:15 - 2:45, inclusive of a 30-minute unpaid break.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support student learning under the supervision of the intervention/GT teacher.
  • Work with individuals or small groups of students to provide instructional support or enrichment.
  • Perform lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal duties in various weather conditions.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness and flexibility to seek nontraditional solutions to issues as they arise
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Ability to proactively manage the classroom and student environment
  • Physical ability, including but not limited to:
    • Standing for extended periods of time,
    • Walking, Sitting, Kneeling, Bending
    • Reaching outward
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to be outside in any weather, supporting our students in outdoor programming.

Pay and Benefits
  • Pay is $23.56 - $26.08 based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
