Job Description
Qualifications: Library Paraprofessionals will hold a High School Diploma or GED.
Length of Contract and Hours: A Library Paraprofessional will work approximately 177 Days per calendar year and up to 29 hours per week.
Immediate Supervisor: A Library Paraprofessional will report directly to the Building Principal.
General Job Description: A Library Paraprofessional, is responsible for providing hands-on support to a Teacher, assisting in the daily operations of the school library and supporting students and staff in accessing resources. This includes tasks like circulation, maintaining the collection,and providing basic technical support.
Specific Job Functions:
  1. Assist Teachers in Library related activities, including checking books in and out and managing overdue notices.
  2. Shelving books, organizing materials, and performing minor repairs.
  3. Assists with basic computer and printer issues, troubleshooting login problems, and circulating devices.
  4. Possess the ability to work closely with children. Help students and staff locate materials, answer questions, and provide guidance on library resources.
  5. Must possess excellent teamwork skills and the ability to remain calm and patient at all times.
  6. Serve as a guide in instructing students on proper classroom behavior.
  7. Process new materials, maintain records, and assist with inventory.
  8. Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students.
  9. Assist students who need additional help.
  10. All other duties as assigned.
