Reports To: Elementary School Principals

Position Requirements:

¨ Demonstrate a genuine concern for the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children

¨ Master Degree in School Counseling

¨ Holds a valid Indiana DOE School Counseling License

¨ Experience and Knowledge in Best Practices for School Counseling

¨ Excellent Communication and Team Skills

♦ Salary Range $45,500 - $83,000 Based on Degree, Certification, & Experience

Performance Responsibilities:

¨ Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program around the American School Counselors’ Association developing knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for children to become healthy, competent, and confident learners.

¨ Work with administration to develop a safe and respectful learning environment.

¨ Provide education, prevention, early identification and intervention, to assist their students in achieving academic success, developing an understanding of career opportunities and developing social/emotional skills in response to issues they face.

¨ Provide direct services (school counseling core curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services), and indirect student services (consultation, collaboration, and referrals).

¨ Assists the administration with the local and state testing programs.

¨ Collaborate with the middle and high school counselors in order to provide a comprehensive K-12 counseling program experience for students based upon the American School Counselors’ Association.

¨ Collaborate with outside agencies to provide services to students.

¨ Schedule shall be set to serve the students at both North Elementary School and South Terrace Elementary School.
