Job Summary T he School Counselor provides academic, pragmatic, and social-emotional support to students with complex learning profiles throughout the school day. This role involves instructional support inside and outside the classroom, designing and implementing activities, and collaborating with academic and clinical team members in a child-centered, therapeutic school setting. Key Responsibilities S upport teachers in curriculum implementation Assist teachers, clinicians, and administration in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment Provide academic support, accommodations, and modifications as needed Facilitate student transitions between classes and throughout the building Supervise and implement coverage activities during staff absences Supervise students in all school locations, including arrival and dismissal Provide ongoing social-emotional support to students in classroom and milieu settings Design and implement activities/classes under supervision Complete student-related documentation as required Prepare and maintain classrooms and milieu for daily use Proctor testing sessions, ensuring IEP-mandated accommodations are provided Model appropriate social cues and body language, offering social pragmatic support Perform other duties as assigned while complying with all school policies and standards Required Qualifications B achelor’s Degree in Education preferred (experience may be accepted in lieu of education requirements) Experience working with children and/or adolescents (0–1 year preferred) Flexibility, collaborative mindset, and willingness to learn bility to work collaboratively with academic and clinical team members Commitment to professional growth and competency Positive and professional behavior toward students, parents, and staff Responsiveness to supervision and feedback Preferred Qualifications Prio r experience in therapeutic or special education settings Strong interpersonal and communication skills Certifications None required; relevant certifications in counseling or education are a plus Special Instructions Candidates must provide immunization records for MMR, a TB test, and a Flu vaccine in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (O HS) requirements.
