Job description

Description:

The Electronics Technician at Hyper Solutions plays a critical role in supporting the development, assembly, and testing of prototype cooling and electrical systems for mission-critical data center applications. This position bridges the gap between engineering design and product deployment by building, modifying, and validating prototype systems while providing valuable feedback throughout the product development process.

Working closely with engineering teams, the Electronics Technician supports rapid prototyping, system integration, testing, and troubleshooting across multiple concurrent projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys working in an engineering lab environment and thrives in fast-paced product development where innovation and continuous improvement are part of the daily workflow.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assemble, modify, and support prototype mechanical and electrical systems for thermal and electrical applications
  • Perform light mechanical fabrication including drilling, cutting, fastening, and component modifications
  • Install and wire electrical harnesses, components, and assemblies
  • Configure and install sensors including flow meters, temperature sensors, voltage/current meters, valves, and touchscreen interfaces
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate designs and provide build feedback throughout development
  • Document assembly procedures, technical issues, test results, and recommended design improvements
  • Support prototype testing, troubleshooting, validation, and system refinement
  • Maintain an organized prototype lab, inventory, and work area
  • Support multiple engineering projects with changing priorities and aggressive development timelines

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering teams with prototype improvements and design iterations
  • Support equipment setup for testing and validation activities
  • Maintain accurate build documentation and technical records
  • Coordinate with engineering and external fabrication partners as needed
  • Support occasional field builds or partner facility activities when required
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a technician in mechanical, electrical, prototype, or R&D environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in fabrication and prototype assembly
  • Experience wiring electrical systems and working with AC/DC power systems (up to 480VAC)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Experience using multimeters, hand tools, power tools, drill presses, and other shop equipment
  • Familiarity with sensor installation, configuration, and calibration
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital documentation tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical or vocational training
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification for cable and wire harness assembly
  • Experience working with HVAC systems, cooling equipment, or data center infrastructure
  • Experience working in engineering prototype or product development environments

What Success Looks Like

  • Prototype systems are assembled accurately, safely, and on schedule
  • Engineering teams receive timely technical feedback that improves product designs
  • Testing and validation activities are well documented and support rapid development cycles
  • Prototype workspaces remain organized and ready to support multiple concurrent projects
  • Product development milestones are achieved through strong collaboration and technical execution

Why Hyper?

At Hyper, you'll work directly with engineering teams developing next-generation power and cooling technologies for mission-critical infrastructure. Your work will have a direct impact on product innovation by helping transform engineering concepts into functional prototypes and production-ready solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, solving technical challenges, and contributing to cutting-edge product development in a collaborative environment.

Location
