Intermountain Electronics (IE) is a leading provider and manufacturer of custom engineered Process, Electrical Control and Power Distribution turn-key solutions to the Data Center, Industrial, Power/Utility, Oil & Gas, Mining industries in North America. Our products range from large scale one-off custom Power Distribution, Control and Process systems to standard off-the-shelf electronic/electro-mechanical components. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager we are currently seeking a Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving Associate for our Day Shift to be based at our Denver facility.

Job Title: Warehouse/Shipping & Receiving Associate

Position Summary: Perform diverse warehouse, shipping, and receiving job functions by performing the following duties.


Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 6am- 2:30pm (core hours)


Essential Functions - Other duties may be assigned

  • Receives materials coming into warehouse/facility accurately and promptly.
  • Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking materials received against packing list, bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records; keeps records of goods received to match Epicor and vendor packing slips; forwards all packing slips to purchasing.
  • Checks for damaged goods; handles claims with freight companies and vendors as necessary.
  • Operate forklift to move or hoist shipments from shipping/receiving area to storage area or from shipping/receiving area to trucks.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving to storage or to other designated areas. Ensures items are stored in an orderly and accessible manner
  • Operate forklift to move or hoist shipments from shipping/receiving area to storage area or from shipping/receiving area to trucks.
  • Loads and unloads freight in an efficient and safe manner utilizing the appropriate tools and equipment
  • Call trucking companies to set up shipments; prepare all material to be shipped by packing, wrapping, and assuring that material is protected for transport; prepare and record shipping data, such as weight, charges, shipping orders, bills of lading, damages and discrepancies
  • Track, monitor and maintain point of use inventory on shop floor. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Assemble/stage job boxes for manufacturing and rebuild making sure boxes are organized and prepared to meet production schedule and are complete and accurate.
  • Research and reconcile receiving problems as requested
  • Perform cyclic counts and assist with inventory maintenance
  • Responsible for shipping all materials out of IE. Prepare all material to be shipped by packing, wrapping, and assuring that material is protected for transport. Prepare all shipping documents for shipping
  • Responsible for receiving all materials in IE facility for inventory and/or job orders. Match material with packing slips and receive into the computer. Verify all packing slips match material coming in.
  • Make deliveries/pick-ups in company truck when required.
  • Keeps warehouse clean and organized.

Tools and Equipment

  • Safe use of overhead cranes & forklifts, to assist in moving, unloading, and loading material.
  • Operate misc. hand tools.
  • Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly stored at the end of each shift.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, plus two years’ experience in shipping/receiving/warehouse operations
  • In-depth knowledge of IE organization and operations, shipping/receiving practices, and procedures
  • Good understanding and knowledge in the production and manufacturing of electrical distribution equipment related to energy industries.
  • Lift up to 50 Lbs., Push/Pull up to 100 Lbs.
  • Must be able to read English, count accurately, do simple math, and write English legibly
  • Must be able to safely operate Company forklifts
  • Attention to detail. Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills
  • Must be reliable, responsible, dependable and able to fulfill obligations
  • Good PC skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Outlook, EPICOR and other specialized purchasing applications
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of internal employees, customers and vendors
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess basic computational ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent assignments
  • Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision
  • Must be team player and self-motivated

  • Must possess OSHA forklift certification

  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift/and or move up to 15 lbs. frequently, lift and move up to 50 lbs. on a fairly regular basis and lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. occasionally

Work Schedule: Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
