Location
Administrative responsibilities will be performed 100% in-office at our facility on site in Syracuse, NY, however you will spend approximately 50% of your time visiting customers in the field in the Syracuse area.

Job Summary
As a relationship-focused Electronic Security Sales Consultant you will serve as a liaison for existing customers and grow new business by acquiring new commercial customers. In this role, you’ll identify client needs, recommend tailored security solutions, and guide prospects from first conversation through closing the deal and offering continuous support thereafter. This involves meeting clients onsite to better understand their needs and leveraging your knowledge of various electronic security best practices to tailor custom solutions – including burglar and fire alarm systems, as well as access control systems and CCTV cameras. This position is ideal for an electronic security sales professional who enjoys selling complex, technology-based solutions while building long-term customer relationships, and driving recurring monthly revenue.

Salary Range
$70.000 per year - $80.000 per year, based on experience, plus commissions

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new commercial security sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, cold calls, inbound leads, and referrals
  • Meet with customers on-site to conduct a security needs assessment and comprehensive on-site surveys
  • Serve as an advisor by designing customized security and fire solutions, including intrusion and burglar alarms, fire alarm systems, access control, and video surveillance (CCTV)
  • Prepare proposals and pricing aligned with customer requirements, budgets, and compliance needs
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and contact information
  • Develop and maintain a strong customer pipeline to consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals
  • Collaborate closely with our technical team to ensure accurate system design and smooth handoffs
  • Maintain ongoing customer relationships to drive renewals, upselling and identify other opportunities to drive recurring monthly revenue (RMR)
  • Consistently and independently educate yourself on electronic security technology, industry trends, and competitor offerings to ensure Eastern Security Services maintains a leader in local

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in sales, sales engineering, or technical consulting role supporting enterprise or commercial accounts
  • 3+ years of experience in the physical security industry, i.e. alarm systems, access control, video, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles from discovery through contract closure
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work with cross-functionally with sales, operations, and project management teams.
