Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Dover Motion is seeking a customer obsessed Sales Engineer to join our team. The Sales Engineer's primary responsibilities will include qualifying all incoming customer leads and inquiries in a timely, professional and positive manner; promoting Dover Motion products and solutions through Consultative Value Selling to determine optimal solutions; preparing quotes and proposals for customers based on incoming leads; and maintaining positive relationships with existing customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpret customer requirements and assist customers in defining and selecting the appropriate Dover Motion product(s).
  • Negotiate with customers on best pricing under direction of Senior Management.
  • Document special pricing and custom engineering requests and follow up to make sure requests are completed and presented to customers in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize Hubspot CRM including capturing all Leads and Customer Information and entering information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide technical drawings or product specifications when needed.
  • Manage assigned accounts for product direction/forecasting, profitability, growth, and attaining sales objectives.
  • Coordinate activities (custom requests, training, visits from and to customers) in partnership with Business Development, Engineering, and Operations as appropriate.
  • Support Dover's strategic marketing activities (webinars, tradeshows, white papers, etc.) when required via sales support, content creation, etc.
  • Cold call prospective customers or open/lost/unresolved leads in Hubspot and follow-up with customers from product CAD site download.
  • Acts as a backup in answering Dover incoming phone calls, sales order entry and responding to customer issues / returns / requests through e-mail and phone.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering preferred, Associate's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5+ years of technical sales in motion control or manufacturing industry experience.
  • Proven experience supporting customers and/or applications engineering needs.
  • Experience in motion products/technology product company required.
