How much do electrodes jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 24, 2026, the average yearly pay for electrodes in the United States is $280,558.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $108,000.00 and $400,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the difference between Electrodes vs Welders?

AspectElectrodesWelders
CertificationsCertified Welding Inspector (CWI), AWS certificationsWelding certifications, such as AWS Certified Welder
Work EnvironmentManufacturing, construction, repair shopsConstruction sites, factories, shipyards
Job RoleProvide electrodes for welding; may perform welding tasksPerform welding using electrodes or other methods

Electrodes are consumable materials used in welding processes, while welders are skilled professionals who perform welding tasks, often using electrodes. Although related, electrodes are tools/materials, and welders are the operators who utilize them in various industries.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Electrode-related jobs typically do not pay $4,000 a week without specialized skills or certifications. High-paying roles in manufacturing, sales, or technical fields may reach that level, but they often require experience, training, or licensing. Most jobs paying this amount without a degree are in sales, entrepreneurship, or skilled trades with significant experience or commission-based pay structures.

What jobs pay 200,000 a year in the USA?

Electrode-related roles such as senior electrical engineers, industrial engineers, or specialized technicians in high-demand industries can reach or exceed $200,000 annually with experience, certifications, and advanced skills. Executive positions in manufacturing or technical management may also achieve this salary level, often requiring extensive expertise and leadership responsibilities.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

Electrode-related roles are unlikely to pay $500,000 annually, as such high salaries are typically associated with executive, specialized medical, or high-level corporate positions. Most high-paying jobs in the US at this level require extensive experience, advanced degrees, or ownership of a successful business. In specialized fields like engineering or technology, senior executives or entrepreneurs may reach this income level, but electrode-specific roles generally do not.

What is an electrode technician?

An electrode technician is a skilled worker responsible for preparing, installing, and maintaining electrodes used in welding, electrochemical processes, or medical applications. They often work in manufacturing, industrial, or healthcare environments and may require technical training or certifications related to their specific field.

Job description

Are you ready to build America's energy future? Form Energy is an American manufacturing and energy technology company. We're revolutionizing energy storage with cost-effective, multi-day technology designed to keep the electric grid secure and reliable, even during extended periods of stress. By strengthening the electric system and reimagining what's possible, we're giving clean energy a whole new form!
In recent years, Form Energy has earned a number of accolades, including being named by TIME as a "Best Invention", MIT Technology Review as a "Top Climate Tech Company To Watch", and Fast Company as "One of the Next Big Things In Tech". We are making rapid progress on our mission of delivering energy storage for a better world, and our team is growing just as rapidly to meet demand. We have signed contracts with leading electric utilities across the United States and production of our iron-air batteries is underway at our first high-volume manufacturing facility in West Virginia.
Working for Form Energy is more than just a job, it's a chance to be part of something extraordinary. And now - right as we significantly scale up battery manufacturing - might be the most exciting moment in the company's history to join. We are assembling a team of highly talented and driven individuals across the country. Driven by our core values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, our team is determined to deliver on our mission and transform the energy landscape for the better.
Feeling energized to make a meaningful impact on the world? Then keep reading - you've come to the right place.
Role Description
The Electrode Mechanical Engineering team within the Core Technology group at Form is multidisciplinary and focused on delivering qualified battery anode and cathode designs that meet operational performance targets, at cost and with high reliability, from controlled processes on high-volume manufacturing lines for Form Energy's utility-scale multi-day energy storage system.
We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in designing components for our battery cell design! You'll own the design of components and assemblies from concept to production, with a strong emphasis on design for manufacturing and assembly. As a problem solver, you'll creatively tackle mechanical design challenges and apply your knowledge of designing metal and plastic components for mass manufacturing. You'll work cross-functionally with teams on requirements definition and verification plans to deliver a design that meets those requirements. Comfortable working in a prototype shop environment, you'll communicate with manufacturers to deliver an optimized, production-ready design. Troubleshooting design problems as they arise and working with the Electrode & Cell Engineering design teams to implement improvements will also be a part of your responsibilities. If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you, apply now!
Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the design of a full electrode assembly or complex sub-assembly integral to the battery cell electrodes and electrode stack assembly
  • Develop functional requirements and DFMEAs in close collaboration with members of the Cell Engineering, Electrode Engineering, and Systems Engineering teams
  • Perform hands-on prototyping of designs and collaborate with broader teams to build integrated prototypes
  • Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to gather and implement DFM / DFA feedback into designs.
  • Release designs consistent with company and team best practices (GD&T, drawings, tolerance analysis, etc)
  • Demonstrate design functionality through analysis (e.g. FEA, CFD) and component- or system-level testing
  • Work with external vendors, manufacturing engineers, and technical operations to transition designs from concept to prototype phase to high volume production
  • Drive verification testing of your design work.

What you'll bring:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor's with 5+ years, or Master's with 3+ industry experience in mechanical design
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), specifically SolidWorks modeling and drafting
  • Proficient in component design for mass manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), especially formed / stamped sheet metal and injection molded plastic components.
  • Proficient with prototyping techniques and working in a machine shop environment
  • Experience working with batteries, energy storage, fuel cells, or electrolyzers is a plus
  • Experience with plating technologies is a plus
  • Experience with the design and verification of mechanical systems using FEA is a plus.
