Job description

IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time Electrical Construction Estimator-Data Center in Lithia Springs, Georgia.ย ย ย 

Job Summary

  • Prepares cost estimates for all aspects of electrical construction projects up to $50M utilizing construction plans and specifications in accordance with company estimating guidelines and related industry standards.
  • Writes proposals that accurately and completely capture the scope of work as well as the costs associated with assigned projects.
  • Leads the Proposal Review Process to ensure IES management has all appropriate documentation on Estimates prior to release to the customer.
  • Direct ownership of ensuring project documentation and tracking is up to company standards throughout the Pre-con phase through hand-off to the Project Team.
  • Works with Project Team to establish accurate budgets and buyouts based on the estimate.
  • Establishes the project specific change order format on existing projects and ensures all change estimates are compliant.
  • Serves as front-line point-of-contact on behalf of company with clients.
  • Ability to prepare estimates by performing complete takeoff of scope of work.
  • Ability to have an in-depth understanding of the project specifications and requirements to accurately account for the total cost.
  • Coordinates total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned.
  • Negotiates with vendors to ensure quality and lowest cost possible on bid items.
  • Supports other department personnel as required; may include preparing estimates in other disciplines and assisting Project Managers with start-up and change-order costs.
  • Work performed at project location with trips to other projects or offices as required.

Qualifications

  • 4 or more years' experience in estimating or cost control and/or engineering experience in the commercial or industrial electrical construction industry.
  • Accubid experience.
  • Change Order and new project pricing experience.
  • Design-build project experience preferred.
  • Data Center experience preferred.
  • Ability to determine both cost and schedule impacts.
  • Strong computer skills (EXCEL) and exceptional knowledge/experience utilizing complex project management software and construction estimating software.
  • Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems and reading/comprehending blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of commercial or industrial building codes and related systems/controls.
  • Strong math, reading, organizational, and analytical/critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as an estimating team member.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check.
