Job description

The Electrical Field Service Manager oversees electrical field service operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of electrical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role provides leadership to field technicians, manages customer relationships, and ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to technical and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Division Leader with P&L responsibility for Electrical Service Department
  • Coordinate and monitor daily manpower and equipment needs, and workload efficiencies of Electrical Field Service Teams.
  • Meet with customers to review projects and conduct job walks.
  • Coordinate meetings with owners, utilities, engineering and subcontractors.
  • Review construction plans, create budgets, scope of work documents and other contractual documentation for work.
  • Compliance with all company policies, procedures and initiatives
  • Constantly monitor and report on department productivity and backlog.
  • Drive profitability of company with professional, high-quality installation, service and repairs that meet or exceed original equipment specifications, while meeting service and overall company objectives.
  • Work with Keller management, and Human Resources, in lifecycle of employees, from recruitment to separation.
  • Provide leadership and employee development opportunities (on-the-job, EASA classes, correspondence courses or any other educational opportunities approved by management)
  • Responsible for annual performance evaluations for all direct reports and performance improvement plans as needed
  • Coordinate and run daily/weekly production and toolbox meetings
  • Coordinate repairs during normal hours as well as after hours, including bringing in parts and employees to complete the job even if outside normal realm of responsibilities
  • Provide technical information required by the vendors - parts lists, sectional drawings, manuals

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 
  • Effective leadership and management skills, along with cohesive team building skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and problem sensitivity.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Solid communication skills (clear, concise), and excellent interpersonal skills in building relationships
  • Excellent trouble shooter in tough situations as well as handling multiple tasks with skillfulness
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in constructive and timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret project drawings, electrical drawings and process control drawings.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in construction management or engineering / engineering technology, or job-related experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical construction with demonstrated experience in the industrial market.
  • Have a satisfactory motor vehicle report as position will drive company vehicles.
  • Experience with Industrial/Water Treatment, Municipal Water Plants and Pump Stations, along with process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Must be experienced with construction documentation and contract administration.
  • Work experience in the mining and/or aggregate industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge on Variable Speed Drives application and troubleshooting/repair.
  • Experienced with using project scheduling software.
  • Industrial process instrument technician experience a plus.
  • Experience estimating electrical projects.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Project, Excel, Outlook and Word).
