On-Board Engineering Corp is a professionally licensed Full Service Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) partner with Design Build capabilities, specializing in small to mid-sized capital and maintenance projects in the industrial and manufacturing marketplace.
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: East Windsor, NJ or New Castle, DE (Some Hybrid Flexibility and Travel to Local Client Sites)

Overview:
The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for implementing electrical engineering principles and technologies, utilizing design tools, and executing engineering designs for assigned proposals and projects. Candidates for this position are expected to have industrial plant or system design experience and be familiar with typical industrial electrical systems, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, lighting, grounding, and instrumentation/control systems. Candidates must demonstrate teamwork, leadership, multi-tasking, and planning skills while supporting projects from concept through execution..
Responsibilities:
  • Perform design engineering activities involving electrical power systems, equipment, instrumentation, and controls
  • Design and develop medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems for industrial facilities
  • Prepare and review single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, equipment specifications, load calculations, and construction packages
  • Gather and organize information to assist in developing designs, specifications, and drawings for electrical systems and equipment
  • Assist with technical evaluations of bids and recommendations for equipment and material purchases
  • Assist with vendor and shop drawing reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and specifications
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, contractors, and vendors throughout project execution
  • Support construction, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities as required
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements, including NEC and industry best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of post-academic experience
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, chemical, refinery, power, or similar facilities preferred
  • EIT and/or PE preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or other applicable electrical engineering software tools
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and industrial electrical equipment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Experience with instrumentation and controls, PLCs, DCS systems, or industrial automation is highly valued but not required
