UCT is looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to join us!
The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, and tests electrical assemblies and equipment to meet customer requirements while supporting the improvement of existing products. This role develops circuit and system concepts, resolves technical issues, and provides documentation to enhance manufacturing processes. The engineer collaborates across departments, contributes to proposals, analyzes data, and supports product functionality, cost efficiency, and overall quality.
This role is 100% on-site!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop design concepts for circuits and systems.
  • Investigates, troubleshoots and provides recommendations for resolving problems.
  • Reviews customer specifications and provides input on technical proposals and cost estimates as requested.
  • Provides technical input / documentation to support manufacturing practices, procedures and/or process.
  • Participates in teams assigned to address technical issues or specific organizational requirements.
  • Enhance existing products for improved functionality, cost reduction and manufacturability.
  • Works productively with all aspects of the business - sales, marketing, purchasing, planning, etc.
  • Gathers and analyses data with ability to format and present to customers both internally and externally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry design, power distribution design, implementing microprocessors & microcontrollers, and PLC programming.
  • Experience with safety standards/compliance for systems integration. NEC, UL, CE, CSA, SEMI S2, etc.
  • Experience with networking Ethernet and/or Device net, others.
  • Knowledge of C or VB language programming skills a plus.
  • Knowledge of RF systems and design a plus.
  • Strong communications (written, verbal, listening) and team skills.
  • Strong work ethic. Fast learner with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to implement and verify high quality designs in a timely; cost effective manner.
  • Computer skills, MS Office, AutoCAD or ORCAD, etc.

Educational/Certification Requirement:
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering required.

Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
  • 4-6 years of electro-mechanical technician experience within a manufacturing environment required.
  • 2-4 years' experience with an emphasis on designing systems for custom automation and/or capital equipment.
