Job description

Portland, Oregon (preferred), or Bend, Oregon (for the right candidate)

Customer Operations Manager

Elexity is disrupting the C&I energy storage and building energy management market. Our whole-building EMS platform is a new approach to controlling, managing, and optimizing energy in commercial buildings. We uniquely pair traditional energy storage with predictive load control technology to significantly reduce demand charges and time-based energy costs, maximize on-site solar, provide a more reliable backup solution, and enable customers to participate in grid services programs. Elexity is a critical enabler of the energy transition. We unlock energy value from C&I buildings with intelligent energy control, delivering on the promise of a dynamic, flexible, and renewable grid. We are a growth-stage, venture-funded company.

Why Work for Us?
  • You love getting things done
  • You want to leave customers feeling delighted
  • You want to build the operational backbone of an early stage disrupter, not inherit one
  • You want to design processes and tools, not just execute someone else’s
  • You want to make a significant contribution to the energy transition
What will you do

In support of business development and product development, the Senior Energy Analyst will:

  • Deliver economic analysis, including savings reports, to customers.
  • Analyze expected savings at prospective sites for customers and partners.
  • Defend results in presentations to the management team.
  • Research and model site economics, operating strategies, and enrollment procedures for demand response programs in multiple markets.
  • Specify improvements to our utility tariff analysis engine.
  • Specify improvements to our control algorithms.
  • Run site simulations of different hardware configurations, control strategies, load control programs, and tariff choices.

In this cross‑functional, high‑impact role, you will get a crash course in renewable energy, load flexibility, and the future of the grid. If you want to grow your career and help prepare our energy system for a 100% renewable grid, this position is for you.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Quantitative understanding of energy economics and energy systems
  • Bachelor’s degree required (energy systems, engineering, economics, data science, statistics, operations research, mathematics, or similar)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis and data visualization in Python; you wake up wondering what new tricks you can make pandas dataframes and matplotlib do
  • SQL skills are a plus
  • Strong economics and time‑series analysis experience required. You will be modeling complex utility tariffs beginning in Week 1, so that should appeal to you.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills
  • Must be comfortable in a customer‑facing role
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Familiarity with modeling behind‑the‑meter energy projects is a plus
  • Familiarity with solar energy, energy storage, building controls, commercial electric rates, demand response, virtual power plants (VPPs), and utilities are all major pluses
Location, Compensation and Benefits
  • Portland, Oregon (preferred), Bend, Oregon (for the right candidate)
  • Stock compensation
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401k and competitive PTO

Elexity provides equal employment opportunity without regard to an applicant’s race, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, religion, marital status or veteran status. All employment offers are contingent upon background check and professional reference checks. We are not able to offer sponsorship of employment at this time.
