This turnkey project execution strategy ensures there is one point of contact to handle projects of any size from beginning to end and allows a cohesive and coordinated Quanta Services team to enter the project life cycle at the earliest stage possible.

The QISG team brings together Engineering, Safety, Quality, Material Procurement, QA/QC, Right-of-Way Acquisition, Scheduling, Environmental Planning, Permitting, Title and Land Management expertise that ensure outstanding results for our clients. 

The Supervising Engineer will oversee the detailed design of high voltage substation projects. This role involves managing a team of engineers, designers and support staff to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering, with extensive experience in performing the detailed design of high voltage substation projects. 


  • Review of Vendor documentation and co-ordination with internal Sourcing Team
  • Support to Proposal Team including preparation of Bill of Materials, develop technical concepts and provide Single Line Diagram, Layout plan etc
  • Co-ordinate directly with clients, engineer, sub-contractors and supplier's technical issues, and technical interfaces
  • Plan and perform technical design reviews together with design teams and report technical risks to line management and PM
  • Review Inspection and Test plan, and attend FAT for major Electrical Equipment if required
  • List and report all noted deviations to the engineering specifications, plan and implement corrective actions in co-operation with PM
  • Responsible for answering technical site questions and review / comment of non-conformance reports from site from engineering point of view
  • Other duties as required

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the electric utility industry or EPC Companies performing engineering related duties and/or management for high voltage electrical substation design.
  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • P.E. license required.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical expertise in electrical engineering, with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Expert knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards.
  • Knowledge of utility industry processes including scheduling, contracts, coordinating and managing all disciplines.
  • Knowledge of process and procedures for project controls and estimates.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting external customers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, including ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE NEC, NESC, and others.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and determine priorities in a complex environment.
