Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial electrical construction projects for a well-established electrical contractor serving the greater Cromwell area. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction and has successfully managed projects for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor. Experience with design-build projects, low-voltage systems, fire alarm installations, service work, and solar projects is highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from award through final completion
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and project execution strategies
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and project stakeholders
  • Review contracts, electrical drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Track project budgets, labor productivity, procurement, forecasting, and overall financial performance
  • Identify and resolve scheduling, budget, procurement, and field-related challenges
  • Lead project meetings while providing regular updates on schedule, financials, risks, and milestones
  • Coordinate material purchasing, equipment deliveries, subcontractor scheduling, and long-lead procurement
  • Support field operations through inspections, commissioning, punch-list completion, and project turnover
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, contract requirements, and company quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that support repeat business opportunities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction
  • Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor
  • Valid Connecticut Electrical License required
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, and construction practices
  • Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout with full financial accountability
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, procurement, change orders, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates available to start within the next month are strongly preferred
