 Operations Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Milford, CT 

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Onsite 

Compensation: $95,000–$115,000 annually (depending on experience!)

We are seeking a hands-on Operations/Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations at our client’s Milford facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys working alongside their team to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with manufacturing expertise who is comfortable managing production, coaching employees, solving operational challenges, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing production department, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and customer deadlines are consistently met.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a production team of 15+ employees while fostering a positive, accountable work environment.
  • Maintain an active presence on the production floor, providing hands-on leadership and operational support.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Coordinate equipment inspections and maintenance needs to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and training, ensuring team members are properly trained on processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate the purchasing of production materials and operational supplies.
  • Support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products and ensure appropriate tooling and production methods are established.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering and other internal teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of production or manufacturing management or leadership experience.
  • Hands-on management style with the ability to work directly on the production floor.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience improving manufacturing processes and driving operational efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with quality systems, regulatory compliance, or manufacturing audits is a plus.

Schedule

  • Full-time, onsite position based in Milford.
  • Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays as business needs require.
