A growing, established, and reputable company has an immediate opportunity for an E-1 Electrical Operation Manager. This position will be responsible for leading a team of service technicians in service repair and installing residential electrical. The successful candidate will have Three to Five (3 to 5) years of experience in running a service division of an electrical contractor.

We’re expanding our team and seeking a motivated, Electrical Operation Manager to help drive company growth and keep our install team busy.
Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the team follows all electrical codes and standards.
  • Suggests ways to increase revenues and efficiency.
  • Determines the work schedule and assignments.
  • Completes installations and repairs as needed.
  • Oversees training and scheduling of both journeyman and apprentice electricians, which involves determining how to best use and grow each employee.
  • Prepares bids for jobs that require estimates and ensure that the job runs on or below.
  • Provides ongoing technical guidance and support to the team of electricians.
  • Field Visits with technicians to help diagnose and troubleshoot complicated electrical issues and provide viable solutions.
  • Hold technicians accountable to processes, refine procedures where needed and drive consistent remarkable customer experiences.
  • Deals with difficult customers and customer complaints.
  • Coordinates logistics for materials and equipment needed to complete the job.
  • Coordinates with other departments for labor, material, and equipment resources.
  • Attend weekly management accountability meetings.
  • Assists in the performance review and development planning of personnel.
  • Investigates accidents and other safety related issues and takes corrective action as needed.
  • Work closely with the Office Administrator and ensure that invoices are generated and distributed to customers.
  • Holds departmental meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Assists in the collection of past due accounts in working with the office manager.
  • Analyzes service productivity and recommends changes to improve customer service and profitability.
  • Develops and implements a marketing plan which promotes new and repeat business.
  • Responsible for managing all labor, materials, and equipment costs on a job, and for the overall department as it relates to the company’s profit and loss.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by Management.
Essential Qualifications:

  • Educational and experience requirements include a high school diploma and a journeyman’s electrician license.
  • Previous sales and management experience of Three to Five (3 to 5) years in the electrical contracting industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to read and understand technical specifications.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient with MS Office products.
  • Able to think creatively and solve problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop others.
  • Ability to comprehend, summarize, edit, and analyze data.
  • Must be well organized, and a self-starter.
  • Demonstrates project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
