Position Summary

The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for day-to-day operation, maintenance coordination, safety, and security of assigned training and administrative facilities, with emphasis on Army Mission Command Training Center/Complex (MCTC) operations. This role coordinates Department of Public Works (DPW) requests and repair/upgrade actions; oversees facility condition, key control, and fire-marshal compliance; and serves as the primary point of contact for stakeholders to ensure facilities remain fully mission capable. This position also supports Quality Control objectives by conducting and documenting facility readiness inspections and coordinating corrective actions in accordance with the program Quality Control Plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily facility operations to support training, operational events, and administrative activities.
  • Supervise and/or coordinate facility maintenance, physical security, and safety programs; ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Operate and support an Army Mission Command Training Center/Complex (MCTC), including scheduling coordination and facility readiness checks.
  • Submit, track, and validate DPW work orders (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and coordinate access and escort requirements as needed.
  • Conduct facility checks, including HVAC humidity, air-conditioning, and controls checks; document findings and coordinate remediation.
  • Administer key control procedures and maintain accountability in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Coordinate fire-marshal procedures and inspections; ensure compliance with life safety requirements and corrective actions.
  • Maintain records, logs, and reporting required to demonstrate facility readiness and sustainment status.
  • Coordinate with customers, government stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to deconflict priorities and communicate status.
  • Support security requirements appropriate to a Secret-cleared position, to include completion/maintenance of required security systems training (e.g., DISS) as applicable.
  • Support Quality Control activities by documenting facility inspections, tracking deficiencies, and coordinating corrective actions related to facility sustainment and readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or 15 years Army Special Forces experience (substitution allowed).
  • Graduate of the Army Special Forces Qualification Course (18A, 180A, or 18-series NCO MOS).
  • Two years of experience in facility management.
  • Two years of experience operating an Army Mission Command Training Center/Complex.
  • Experience supervising maintenance, security, and safety of facilities.
  • Completion of Fort Bragg DPW Repair & Upgrade (R&U) training.
  • Experience submitting and tracking DPW work orders (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Experience conducting HVAC humidity, air-conditioning, and controls checks.
  • Knowledge of key control and fire-marshal procedures.
  • Defense Information Systems for Security (DISS) training.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Project Manager (PMP or equivalent).
  • Four years of experience as a senior supervisor.
  • Two years of management/operations experience at MTC, NTC, JRTC, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience supporting SOF training organizations.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in an office and training-facility environment with frequent walking through facility spaces, mechanical rooms, and controlled areas. May require occasional lifting, climbing ladders, and working in varying temperatures/humidity while conducting facility checks. Schedule may include early/late hours or weekend support during training events.
