Facility Electrical System Design Engineer (Power Systems)
A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona's first fab will operate its leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. America's leading technology companies are ready to rely on TSMC Arizona for the next generations of chips that will power the digital future.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability and enthusiasm and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values - Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.
In this role you will lead the design and implementation of critical electrical power systems (HV/LV/UPS/FMCS) for our state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This role requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering, a keen eye for innovative solutions, and the ability to ensure compliance with all local codes and regulations. You will play a pivotal role in creating the robust and reliable infrastructure essential for advanced semiconductor production.
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design of new fab Electrical systems, including High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV), Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), and Facility Monitoring Control Systems (FMCS).
  • Demonstrate strong skills in cross-departmental communication, coordination, and problem-solving to ensure integrated system designs.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative technologies to enhance facility efficiency and reliability.
  • Overcome challenges presented by new manufacturing processes and promote a sustainable environment through thoughtful design.
  • Design new Fabs in full compliance with local codes and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (High Voltage/ Low Voltage/ Uninterruptible Power Systems/ Facility Monitoring Control System).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Electrical PE qualification is preferred.
    • Have related experience in electrical systems for the semiconductor industry or other related industries.
    • Familiar with Word/Excel/PowerPoint/AutoCAD software.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • High level of willingness to learn.
    • Possess independent thinking and operational abilities.
    • Ability to innovate and think flexibly.

  • Standard work hours: Monday through Friday
