Job description

Summary
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production and auxiliary equipment and installing new equipment.
Responsibilities
The Electrical Maintenance Technician will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Summary of essential job functions and responsibilities:
• Inspect and test the operation of electrical components and systems up to and including transformers and switchgear
• Installation of new industrial electrical systems, including wiring, conduit, circuit breakers, PLC's, HMI's, robotic systems, lighting, electrical facilities equipment (transformers, switchgear).
• Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
• Documenting electrical repairs and maintenance procedures in work order system
• Adherence to NFPA 70E standards for lockout/tagout and de-energizing live electrical equipment
• Troubleshoots and assesses root causes or deficiencies in electro-mechanical equipment. Diagnoses and executes repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Communicates status of work orders or emergency repairs to maintenance planner, electrical engineer, or maintenance manager and enlists further resources as needed.
• Consults with operators, operations managers, and other end-users to determine safest and most cost-effective repairs.
• Proactively looks for ways to save time and money in repairs, preventative maintenance, and outsourcing opportunities.
• Manages electrical preventive maintenance program and corrective maintenance repairs.

Salary: $27.00/hr. - $33.00/hr.

Qualifications
Associate degree in electrical engineering technology and/or completion of a five year electrical apprenticeship program.
• 5 plus years' experience and training in mechanical and electrical functions of production equipment in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Ability to read and interpret information, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to solve both routine and complex electrical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.
• Ability to utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking maintenance work
• Must be detail oriented, organized and energetic.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
