RCT Systems, Power Systems Division, is seeking Electrical Engineering interns/co-ops to join our team for the summer and regular semester co-op. Note that we are no longer accepting applications for summer-only employment; however, we remain open to internships/co-ops that begin in the summer and continue through the fall. Please indicate your desired term of employment in your resume or cover letter.
Entry- and junior-level applicants to RCT Systems Power Systems Division (PSD), without specific experience or education in power conversion and/or power systems, are encouraged to provide cover letters to their resume/CV that address the gap between their background and the core work that we perform here at RCT PSD (solid-state power conversion).
Electrical Engineering interns will perform in one or more of several different areas including:
- Develop HMIs/GUIs for operation and testing of power converters.
- Detailed PCB design including system control PCBs and support hardware.
- Design and test embedded control algorithms for DSPs, FPGAs, and PLC controllers.
- Develop Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) test setups, control cards, and control algorithms using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) real-time simulators.
- Design and debug electrical simulation models used to derisk test setups.
- Testing of magnetic components (inductors, transformers).
- Develop test plans and procedures for systems nearing design completion.
- Analyze collected test data and develop reports and presentations.
Minimum Requirements:
