Job description

SUMMARY:

Performs maintenance and repairs on life support and general medical equipment. Controls maintenance costs. Insures patient and staff safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Education: AA or AS degree in Biomedical Instrumentation or Electronics, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Experience: 8 years of biomedical equipment maintenance experience, with 3 years of in hospital experience
  • Required License/ Certifications: Current ABM/MAB/CPI certificate within (90 days upon hire) annual thereafter
  • Possess extensive knowledge and able to perform equipment maintenance and repairs, on medical equipment
  • Capable of working unsupervised and can take ownership of tasks and projects
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs from the floor and 25lbs over head, standing for 2 hours, walking for 1 hour and sitting for 1 hour
  • Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language
  • Physical Requirements: Possesses the physical abilities, including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity, e.g., visual, hearing, to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions.
