POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Our company designs and manufactures high temperature vacuum furnaces as well as VPA coating systems used in industries such as aerospace, energy, additive and precision manufacturing.
  • As part of a global group, we combine advanced technology with strong engineering expertise to deliver reliable, high-performance heat-treating solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 7-10 years' experience working in industrial machinery design and manufacturing, preferably for the heat treatment of metal parts (Working for a designer and builder of Capital Equipment REQUIRED).
  • 3-5 years' experience within a leadership/management role.
  • Have some mechanical engineering skills.
  • Understanding of Industrial Norms as they apply to company offerings.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Sr. Engineering Manager has direct responsibility for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Departments.
  • The Sr. Engineering Manager works closely with internal and external Sales personnel to develop new business and products.
  • A demonstrated track record of technical achievements, leadership, innovation, and budget management are required assets to perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below for this position.
  • Plans and formulates all engineering strategies and programs.
  • Provides technical leadership to staff and company personnel so, through efficient use of talents, the company can achieve overall technical superiority in our global marketplace.
  • Manages and organizes technical resources of the company to achieve stated internal engineering objectives in continuous improvement, technical advancement, processing capabilities, and R&D.
  • Works closely with Project Management Team to meet and exceed customer requirements in product design and innovations, processing, quality, prototypes and production deadlines.
  • Advances company competitive position in Product Engineering (i.e. Equipment Design, Process flow through engineering, FEA, CFD) with our customers.
  • Reviews the activity of product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer specifications. Delegating to the responsible parties to adapt and follow these principles and standards.
  • Oversees customer technical meeting preparations and continuously drives for improvements in "professionalism" and sales outstanding of products before and during presentations.
  • Utilizes technical resources and analytical means to continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processing, statistical variations, rework reduction, and other critical metrics and cost items.
  • Understands and apply advanced manufacturing technology and automation to drive manufacturing processes and efficiency objectives and improvements.
  • Drives innovation in all areas of engineering disciplines.
  • Periodically appraises employee performance, and in accordance with Company policy, recommends and/or approves change of status and salary adjustments.
  • Always maintain close surveillance over engineering procedures through observations, perusal use of reports and staff meetings to assure coordination and integration of work procedures, timely results, budgetary conformation, and utilization of personnel, equipment and facilities.
  • Provide a routine executive summary outlining the status of cost controls and project challenges that affect the bottom line.
  • Must be able to use CAD software and MS Office products such as excel, word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation and controls.
  • Experienced in overseeing design, integration, and troubleshooting of high-performance electrical equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC and designer software (500,5000), Intouch Wonderware, HC900 Design Station.
