Position Summary:


The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the development of robotic surgical systems, supporting electrical design from concept through commercialization. This role focuses on new product development (NPD) and includes hands-on design, prototyping, integration, and testing of complex electromechanical systems.


The engineer will work cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and systems teams to deliver robust, reliable, and scalable electrical architectures aligned with clinical and user needs.


Essential Functions:

  • Design and develop electrical systems and PCBAs for robotic platforms containing analog, digital, and microcontroller circuitry
  • Drive prototyping, bring-up, testing, and debugging of electrical subsystems
  • Interface with PCB designers to complete circuit board layouts and documentation packages
  • Collaborate on system integration and troubleshoot issues across hardware and software
  • Develop test fixtures and support V&V testing to ensure performance meets system requirements
  • Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) and support transition to production
  • Contribute to design documentation and DHF deliverables
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of product development experience, preferably in robotics or complex systems
  • General experience with PCB development including schematic, layout, building, debugging and component selection
  • Proficient with electrical test equipment; oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc
  • Familiar with design for test, analyzing information, and reporting results
  • Experience with schematic capture software (Altium preferred)
