Job description

$95,000 - $135,000 a year
Electrical Engineer
Tucson, AZ
Company Overview
Ondas Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:ONDS) is building a new kind of intelligence company, one designed for a world where speed, autonomy, and decision advantage matter more than ever. By combining multi-domain platforms, advanced sensing, secure networks, and AI-enabled analytics, Ondas helps defense, government, and critical infrastructure customers transform complex mission data into decision-ready insights when and where they matter most.
Ondas Sentinel is Ondas' U.S. based defense division, purpose-built to deliver U.S. made, U.S. delivered capabilities for the Department of Defense and allied ministries of defense. The division brings together advanced autonomous systems, mission technologies, and intelligence solutions that help customers create persistent awareness, operate with confidence, and make faster decisions in complex and contested environments.
The Stratospheric ISR business unit within Ondas Sentinel is focused on one of the most unique mission areas in aerospace and defense: manufacturing and operating high-altitude stratospheric balloon systems. Few companies in the world can do this work at operational scale. That means our teams are not simply maintaining existing systems; they are building new capabilities, solving first-of-their-kind challenges, and helping define what persistent.
Job Description
At Ondas Sentinel we are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Electrical Engineer/Designer with knowledge in electrical engineering principles to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing avionics systems, power systems, and communication systems based on a single board computer architecture, such as Raspberry Pi. This role demands a fast-paced approach to design, from concept to implementation, with an emphasis on out-of-the-box thinking and the operationalization of off-the-shelf components for use in high-altitude environments.
Role Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design and development of complex electrical systems for avionics applications, ensuring simplicity and modularity.
โ€ข Rapidly conceptualize, design, and prototype innovative, out of the box solutions for avionics systems, power systems and communication systems based on single board computer architectures.
โ€ข Employ advanced circuit design and power system knowledge to create and enhance electrical devices capable of operating in the stratosphere.
โ€ข Demonstrate analytical prowess in solving unconventional engineering problems, designing experiments, and analyzing intricate data sets.
โ€ข Innovate and push the boundaries of electrical engineering, developing cutting-edge systems and fostering a culture of creativity.
โ€ข Provide expertise in complex circuit analysis and predict circuit behavior under challenging conditions.
โ€ข Document designs thoroughly, write detailed test plans and procedures, and produce technical documentation that sets organizational standards.
โ€ข Communicate complex technical ideas effectively to diverse audiences, including technical reporting and presentations.
โ€ข Maintain an exceptional level of precision and attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring the highest standard of system performance and accuracy.
โ€ข Lead and collaborate with project teams, integrating various disciplines and mentoring others in teamwork and collaboration techniques.
โ€ข Apply advanced theories and methods to design and analysis, guiding the team in problem-solving.
Qualifications:
โ€ข Electrical Engineering degree or other technical degree with equivalent work experience
โ€ข 3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
โ€ข Proficient with analog and digital circuit design, building, and testing circuits in a lab environment
โ€ข Proven experience in advanced circuit design, power systems, and avionics systems.
โ€ข Demonstrated experience with single board computer systems, such as Raspberry Pi, and the ability to ruggedize commercial off-the-shelf components for non-standard environments.
โ€ข Strong background in technical writing and documentation.
โ€ข Excellent communication and presentation skills.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work collaboratively.
What We Offer
You will work side by side with experts in emerging technology, gaining exposure to cutting edge ideas and projects that are shaping the future. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance because we believe in taking care of the you as a person, not just a team member.
Our Tucson workplace is designed to support collaboration, focus, and well-being, with an on-site environment that keeps supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and program teams closely connected to the mission.
We believe in creating a dynamic and inclusive workplace where creativity thrives, and every voice is heard. Our commitment to all team members is built upon five core cultural pillars: Engage, Lean In, Create, Care, and Own. Together, these pillars form the foundation of our employee experience while adhering to the highest standards of ethical and sustainable practices.

The description gives you a sense of what the position involves but is not an exhaustive list. We are a growing and evolving team, which means your responsibilities may shift or expand over time as new opportunities arise. Flexibility and curiosity are part of what makes our work exciting!
At Ondas Sentinel, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate belonging and diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. We welcome applications from every background and life experience because we know our differences make us stronger.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company-sponsored immigration support, now or in the future. This position does not offer immigration sponsorship and the company will not seek export authorization. Eligible candidates include U.S. Citizens, U.S. Persons, or individuals with equivalent work authorization.
