This position is a full time, remote job with work flexibility. For operational alignment and collaboration, candidates located in Las Vegas, Portland, or Seattle are preferred.

In this key role, you apply the principles of electricity, power generation, electrical distribution, lighting, and sustainable power generation to assess and design systems working directly with other team members of Akana to meet our client's project requirements.
Requirements
Minimum Required Key Qualifications:
• Professional Engineer Registrations required
• Electrical building or utility power distribution and lighting experience
• Minimum 10+ years' experience
• Expertise in project management; primarily electrical in nature is preferred
• Demonstrated CAD and 3D skills, Revit or MicroStation a plus
• Competence in the use of electrical engineering software (SKM or similar software to perform arc flash and coordination studies is a must)
• Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot as needed
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Low and medium voltage experience preferred (controls experience desired)
• Knowledge of motors and power generation
• Knowledgeable in best practices regarding QC preferred
• Lighting design experience a plus
• Renewable energy design experience is highly desired

What You'll Do:
• Perform arc flash and fault coordination studies using SKM software
• Lead electrical engineering efforts on facilities of all types.
• Lead electrical engineering efforts on emergency and standby generators and their associated systems.
• Lead electrical engineering efforts on low and medium voltage power distribution systems., high voltage systems is a plus
• Assest or lead teams in building and systems commissioning
• Perform design reviews for constructability, maintainability, commission ability, reliability, and efficiency of design
• Conduct site visits to observe installation is in accordance with the approved design and to industry expected standards
• Develop functional performance test (FPT) to facilitate testing of systems both independently and as integrated systems
• Provide written reports throughout the commissioning process, and upon completion of the project
• Assest/perform energy audits, including energy calculations, data analysis, energy conservation measure (ECM) development, with focus on mechanical systems and equipment, complete modeling of selected ECMs, assest in development of implementation cost estimates.
