Job description

sensmore develops Physical AI systems for autonomous heavy machinery such as wheel loaders. This Electronics/Embedded Robotics Engineer role focuses on designing and developing electronic systems and embedded firmware that connect the AI stack to real machines, enabling them to operate reliably in harsh field environments across mining and construction applications.

What You'll Do

  • Design custom electronics including schematics, PCB layout, and component selection for sensor interfacing, power distribution, and machine control
  • Develop and validate embedded firmware on microcontrollers for sensor acquisition, actuator control, and safety-critical functions
  • Own the electrical architecture of the machine kit, including power budgeting, protection, grounding, EMC compliance, and rugged wire harness design
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate hardware and firmware from prototype through field testing to production deployment
  • Debug and validate communication protocols (CAN/CAN FD, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet) in industrial field conditions

What You Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ for ARM Cortex-M or comparable microcontrollers
  • Proven experience bringing electronics from schematic to working board using tools such as Altium or KiCad
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols (CAN/CAN FD, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet) and debugging instruments
  • Practical experience deploying electronics and wire harnesses in harsh industrial or automotive environments, including power protection and signal integrity

Nice to Have

  • Practical experience with off-highway machinery, automotive, or safety-relevant platforms
  • Familiarity with functional safety and EMC standards such as ISO 13849, IEC 61508, or CISPR 25
  • Knowledge of electrical integration for Linux-based compute platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson or industrial PCs
  • Experience with motors, actuators, valve drivers, and closed-loop control systems
  • Proven track record of shipping hardware into production, including test jigs, bring-up procedures, and field servicing

Attractive compensation package and stock options
