The Ontic Engineering is looking for Electrical Engineer to join the Manufacturing production team!

You will report to the Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Creedmoor, NC.
Position Purpose:
The Electrical Engineering position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and guiding the manufacturing of electrical components for new or existing products.
The focus in this position is to coordinate with other departments and outside suppliers, to ensure that functional requirements of new and existing electromechanical products. This includes working from engineering design documents, specifications, prototypes and/or change orders to determine equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacture to produce quality products within specification guidelines.
Essential Functions & Basic Duties:
  • Interprets complex drawings, schematics and technical specifications to evaluate product designs to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, operating standards and test protocols.
  • Develop prototype/pilot manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs.
  • Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support and improvement of existing products.
  • Develop, design, and maintain manufacturing testing systems.
  • Create and maintain accurate Electrical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Provides documentation and training on assembly methods, test procedures and production equipment.
  • Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues on non-conforming materials.
  • Perform high-level troubleshooting on electrical assemblies.
  • Provides technical assistance related to manufacturing and electrical processes.

Qualifications & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum four years of experience in manufacturing, working with AC/DC motors, actuators, circuit boards, electronic assemblies and accessories.
  • Knowledge of materials, outside processes, NDT and specifications related to precision aerospace components and systems.
  • Effective communication and ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
  • Project management.
  • Formal problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, Labview and Altium.
  • Familiarity with PLC Programing
