Job description

Overview:

Signalink a dynamic, small defense contractor committed to excellence in providing advanced defense solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Apply electrical engineering principles and methodologies throughout the lifecycle of avionics and aircraft electrical system development supporting U.S. Army aviation programs.
  • Support the development, integration, analysis, testing, and documentation of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
  • Analyze customer and system requirements and assist in developing electrical system architectures, design approaches, and detailed technical specifications.
  • Support the design and integration of aircraft electrical systems, electronic equipment, wiring harnesses, interconnects, power distribution, and associated components.
  • Perform electrical engineering analyses and assessments to verify that system designs satisfy functional, performance, safety, and airworthiness requirements.
  • Develop and review Electrical Load Analyses (ELA), electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, and other engineering documentation.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and validate electrical and electronic systems to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Evaluate electrical system interfaces and identify potential integration issues involving wiring, connectors, grounding and bonding, circuit protection, power distribution, and system compatibility.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring data, technical specifications, and other complex technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, systems, software, and other engineering disciplines to support aircraft system integration and resolve technical issues.
  • Support engineering investigations, design reviews, technical data package development, and resolution of electrical system integration issues.
  • Review engineering analyses, test results, drawings, and other technical products developed by other team members.
  • Support the development of technical reports, analyses, presentations, and other engineering deliverables in accordance with customer and program requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, avionics, aerospace, military aviation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting electrical engineering activities for aerospace, defense, or other complex systems.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principles, analysis methods, electrical drawings, schematics, and system design.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and electrical system documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Up to 10% travel.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or comparable electrical design and CAD tools.
  • Experience developing or reviewing Electrical Load Analyses (ELA).
  • Familiarity with aircraft electrical power distribution, wiring, connectors, grounding and bonding, and circuit protection.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Army aviation systems, military standards, specifications, technical manuals, and engineering processes.
  • Experience supporting rotary-wing aircraft or other military aviation platforms.
  • Experience supporting aircraft modification, system integration, qualification, verification, or validation activities.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC considerations, wiring harness design, electrical interfaces, or aircraft electrical system troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in a government or defense contractor environment.
  • Experience working directly with government customers or military aviation program offices.
